Wheelchair accessible vehicles are available upon request.

Every vehicle in the Pervia fleet is wheelchair accessible, equipped with a ramp or lift and four-point securement, and operated by a driver trained in passenger assistance and securement. To request a wheelchair accessible vehicle, call dispatch and tell us what the rider needs — there is no separate request process and no waiting list.

Sec. 47A-2.1.6 · Zero tolerance

Zero tolerance for intoxicating substances.

Pervia Medical Transport maintains a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol, illegal drugs, and the misuse of medication, as required of every transportation-for-hire operating authority in the City of Dallas.

Who it applies to

This policy applies to every driver, employee, and contractor who operates a Pervia vehicle or provides passenger assistance, at all times while on duty, while operating a company vehicle, or while otherwise providing transportation-for-hire service.

Prohibited conduct

  • Consuming, possessing, or being under the influence of alcohol while on duty, or within eight hours before reporting for duty
  • Using, possessing, distributing, or being under the influence of any illegal drug or controlled substance
  • Misusing prescription or over-the-counter medication, or driving while taking any medication that impairs the ability to operate a vehicle safely
  • Refusing, delaying, or tampering with a required drug or alcohol test

Testing

  • Before hire, as a condition of employment
  • At random intervals throughout employment
  • Following any accident or collision involving a company vehicle
  • Upon reasonable suspicion of impairment
  • As a condition of returning to duty after any positive result

Consequences

Any detectable amount of alcohol, or any illegal substance, is treated as a positive result and is grounds for immediate termination. Refusing to test, failing to appear for a scheduled test, or tampering with a sample is treated as a positive result and carries the same consequence. If you believe a Pervia driver is impaired, call dispatch immediately — and you may also report it to the City of Dallas at 3-1-1.
